Step 2: Making the Incision
To begin your Colorado brow lift procedure, the incision is made in a location that leaves an inconspicuous scar while not moving the hairline back. The incision starts at the hairline, directly above the center of the eye and extends into the hair-bearing skin over the temple. By placing the incision at this location, the scar is hidden at the hairline over the eye and within the hair over the sideburn. Because the incision is at the hairline in the front, rather than within the hair, when excess skin is removed to elevate the outer brow, the forehead is not elongated. The incision is short (2-3 inches) and the resulting scar is not perceptible even in people with short hair styles or who wear their hair pulled back.
Mini-browlift compared to traditional coronal browlift or endoscopic browlift:
The mini browlift uses two small incisions on the side of the scalp to specifically elevate the outer brow. The coronal browlift incision extends from ear to ear, which yields a much longer scar than is necessary for most people to achieve an improved look. The endoscopic browlift uses five small incisions within the hair-bearing scalp to obtain access for forehead elevation.
