Denver facelift surgery doesn't focus only on the face. The sutures placed in the edge of the platysma muscle in the neck are tied back to the tissue behind it. This achieves a tightening and defining of the neck and helps create a more youthful neck angle.

Mini-facelift compared to traditional facelift:

Extensive separation of the skin from the underlying platysma muscle is performed during a more traditional facelift approach. Using an additional small incision beneath the chin, a larger pocket is created that is continuous from one side of the neck to the other. This increased detachment of the neck tissues can diminish the effect of platysma muscle tightening on the overlying neck skin.
